Friday, April 27, 2012 - Fort Pierce Library Announces May MoviesThe Fort Pierce Branch Library announces its ''Friday Matinee'' lineup for May. Held every Friday, the library presents a free film, starting at 2 p.m.
- May 4 - "Stanley and Iris" (1989) featuring Jane Fonda and Robert DeNiro. An illiterate cook at a company cafeteria tries to gain the attention of a newly widowed woman. Running time: 104 minutes; PG-13*.
- May 11 - "Continental Divide" (1981) featuring John Belushi, Blair Brown and Allen Garfield. A hard-nosed Chicago journalist has an unlikely love affair with an eagle researcher. Running time: 103 minutes; PG.
- May 18 – “Matinee” (1993) featuring John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty and Simon Fenton. A small-time film promoter releases a kitschy horror film during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Running time: 99 minutes, rated PG.
- May 25 – “It Could Happen To You” (1994) featuring Nicolas Cage, Bridget Fonda and Rosie Perez. A police officer promises to share his lottery ticket with a waitress in lieu of a tip. Running time: 101 minutes; PG.
Anyone younger than 13 who would like to attend a film rated PG-13 must have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Permission slips will be available at the front desk on the first floor beginning May 1.
