Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - Parks & Rec Offers New Lunchtime Tai Chi
Starting Nov. 2, St. Lucie County's Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new lunchtime Tai Chi class every Tuesday and Thursday from noon - 1 p.m. at the Havert L. Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave.The ancient art of Tai Chi uses gentle flowing movements to reduce the stress of today's busy lifestyles. Tai Chi can have many benefits including: reduced stress, increased flexibility, improved muscle strength along with definition, increased energy, stamina and agility and increased feelings of well-being. It is also believed that Tai Chi can slow bone loss in women after menopause and aid in lowering blood pressure.
Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. The cost to participate is $55 per month. For more information please call (772) 462-1521.
