Thursday, June 3, 2010 - Media Staff Earns Three NACIO Awards

For the fourth consecutive year, St. Lucie County's Media Relations staff earned recognition from the National Association of County Information Officers' (NACIO) Annual Awards of Excellence program, winning in three different categories.

The St. Lucie County Office of Media Relations staff won the following awards:

  • Meritorious: Brochures - St. Lucie County Parks & Preserve Guide
  • Excellence: Press Releases - St. Lucie County Oyster Reef: Call To Volunteers
  • Excellence: Special Projects/Ceremonies - Grand Opening of the Douglas M. Anderson Emergency Operations Center

The NACIO award winners were announced this week. The awards will be presented at the group's annual meeting July 16 in Reno, Nev. The NACIO Awards of Excellence are given in various categories with rankings of "Superior," "Excellence" or "Meritorious." Entries are broken into two divisions based on the county's population. St. Lucie County was one of three Florida counties recognized in this year's Awards of Excellence program, along with Hillsborough and Broward.
