Wednesday, June 16, 2010 - Extension Office Offers Best Management Practices Workshop July 9

St. Lucie County's Cooperative Extension Office is offering a workshop on Friday, July 9 designed to provide training in Best Management Practices (BMPs) for anyone working in the lawn, landscape, pest control, or municipal grounds areas.  BMP practices focus on reducing non-point source pollution resulting from fertilization or pesticide application.  Upon completion of this training you will be given a post test to determine knowledge learned.  If the post test is successfully completed, you will be awarded a Green Industries BMP certification card.  This card will be an indication that you have earned BMP accreditation and possess the knowledge to help reduce non-point source pollution from entering our valuable water sources.

2.0 CEU’s will be available in the following categories:

  • Ornamental & Turf
  • Private Applicator
  • General Standard/Core
  • 4 FNGLA 
  • Commercial Lawn & Ornamental
  • Limited Certification Lawn & Ornamental
  • Limited Certification Commercial Landscape maintenance
