Wednesday, June 30, 2010 - County Reminds Businesses To Register With Purchasing

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners would like to remind businesses to fill out the Vendor Registration Form with the county's Purchasing Division. This Vendor Registration Form should be submitted by both new and existing vendors interested in providing quotes for goods and services valued at less than $50,000.

The St. Lucie County Vendor Registration Form is available online at www.stlucieco.gov/purchasing or can be picked up at the Purchasing Office, located on the second floor of the Roger Poitras Administration Annex at 2300 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce.

Since its inception in August of 2009, 310 businesses have completed and returned the new vendor form.

Each vendor must provide a list of products, materials, services and/or repairs on the form, so that St. Lucie County staff can better categorize its vendor list. This list will be used to secure three or more oral and written quotes to utilize when needing goods and services valued at less than $50,000. Vendors on the list will be contacted on a rotating basis. Failure to respond to a request is still counted as a contact.

Submittal of this registration is not related to formal bids/RFP/RFQ valued at $50,000 and greater, which are advertised on the county's website via DemandStar. It is the sole responsibility of the vendor to proactively seek formal bidding opportunities through local, newspaper legal advertisements or the Purchasing website. No guarantee is expressed or implied that any commodities/services will be purchased as a result of the submittal of this registration.

St. Lucie County requires that any vendor wishing to do business with the County carry any and all licenses as required by St. Lucie County, any local municipality or the State of Florida, as required by law. As applicable, proof of all licenses and minimum insurance requirements must be provided.

For more information about the Vendor Registration Form, contact the St. Lucie County Purchasing Division at (772) 462-1700 or visit: www.stlucieco.gov/purchasing.
