Tuesday, July 6, 2010 - Spots Still Available For Oxbow's Spirit Of Nature Camp July 26-30

Immerse yourself in nature and release your creative spirit with the Oxbow Eco-Center and Treasure Coast Art Association's (TCAA) Spirit of Nature Art Camp, running July 26 - 30 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Participants ages 11-16 will create their own nature journals and use them to practice drawing, creative writing and mastering the art of Zentangles.  Campers will also create three-dimensional art using clay, wood and even plaster of Paris to make animal guide masks. Finally, students will leave a lasting legacy by creating a rug for the entranceway of the Oxbow Eco-Center.

The Spirit of Nature Art camp is designed for the nature enthusiast with a creative spirit. TCAA artists will help participants develop skills in drawing and painting techniques, color mixing, observation of light and shadows, and creation of art using nature and artifacts for inspiration.

The cost of the camp is $80 per person. There are a few spaces left, so call now (772) 785-5833 or e-mail Shannon Dack at dacks@stlucieco.org to sign up.

The Oxbow Eco-Center is a St. Lucie County Environmental Learning Center located on 225 acres on the St. Lucie River at 5400 N.E. St. James Drive, Port St. Lucie.
