Thursday, July 8, 2010 - Commissioners To Honor Property Appraiser Jeff Furst By Lowering Flags

St. Lucie County Commissioners are asking government agencies to lower their American flags to half staff in honor of the passing of St. Lucie County Property Appraiser Jeff Furst.

County Commission Chairman Charles Grande has submitted a request on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners to the Governor's Office asking that the flags be lowered in honor of Mr. Furst, who passed away Monday after suffering a stroke at the age of 68. He had served as St.  Lucie County's Property Appraiser since 2001, running unopposed in 2004 and 2008.

Visitation for Mr. Furst is being held at Westside Baptist Church, 3361 South Jenkins Road, Fort Pierce on Friday, July 9 from 4-7 p.m.  The service will be Saturday, July 10 at 10 a.m. and a reception will follow in the church hall.
